A certificate is issued with each San Diego Sheriff’s Detective coin. This coin was created by Benny Cruz in 2021. The coin depicts a fingerprint over the title Detective. The back side of the coin depicts a lawman holding a rifle on horseback. The horse is standing over the Thin Blue Line. Detective Cruz’s favorite phrase, “It’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove”, is written on the back of the coin.
